Cord Newman Cord Newman has been a professional stunt coordinator and stuntman in television and film for more than twelve years now. Cord’s love for drama and the art of acting has moved his professional life in many different directions. After majoring in theater and football at Missouri Southern University, Cord moved to South Florida in 1997 to pursue a career in stunts. From ‘There’s Something About Mary’ to Streets of Blood’, Cord has honed his gift for precision driving, fire burns, high falls and fight choreographing. Through his stunts and a natural curiosity to understand all elements of production, Cord discovered the exhilarating world of stunt coordinating.He has worked with and learned from the quintessential stuntmen and coordinators; Artie Malesci, Jeff Galpin, and Glenn Wilder. Today, Cord work with these men as peers and is called to help coordinate films all over the world.
He has over 80 movies and 2 world records in stunts and has won several awards.
Since a young age Cord has grown up in a custom car shop where he learned the skills necessary to fabricate stunt and special effect equipment. Prepping out cars is a talent that comes naturally to him. He has an in depth knowledge of stunts,safety, rigging and fabricating. By foreseeing production problems, Cord keeps safety needs and budget constraints well in hand and is able to move a production from beginning to end efficiently and effectively.
